We don’t even realize what we are capable of, - Head of the UGCC about Ukrainians’ commitment to defend their country

“When you carry on ministry, you see these people every day, you see how difficult it is for them, how they get tired sometimes, how they look for hope. But then you see something else: how these people know how to mobilize themselves. Eventually, you come to a slightly different conclusion than “armchair quarterbacks” put forth. We simply do not realize what we are capable of until the moment comes that demands it from us”, the Head said.

According to him, the time for full mobilization of society has not yet come to an end. "But people are ready to defend their country," His Beatitude Sviatoslav said.

The spiritual leader expressed belief that people need sense, content. "It hurts the most when a person does not understand what is happening to them and why it is happening to him. That is why there is a great demand for the intellectual dimension of the Church because people want to understand," he added.

The Head of the UGCC urged not to be afraid of anything because fear is a cheap adviser. "We have experienced many disasters and we will survive with God's help. The mechanisms of the hybrid war waged against us are aimed at intimidating people. Paralyze their will, ability to think clearly, yet we ought to act and do good because as long as we do good we become immensely strong”, he assumes.
