UGCC calls on the faithful to join Andriyiv Hrish Charitable Initiative at their parishes

The aim of this fund is to become an effective and operative tool in the hands of the Father and Head of the UGCC, responding to urgent needs and challenges.

According to the UGCC Department for Information, the Patriarchal economist of the UGCC Fr. Lubomyr Yavorsky told about the sense of the charity collection “Andrew’s Pence”, about the finances of the Church and their relevance. The father noted that every willing believer can join the charity collection for the Church's social projects in their parish.

“It is obvious that our communities can join this campaign: dioceses, parishes, the faithful of our Church, as well as those who strive to join the service of the Church. And this is very interesting: we are used to thinking of the Church as a separate institution that has its own order and ministry. But, virtually I may not even be a member of the Church, but I can serve through the Church. Therefore, this fund is open to various communities and people who want to help their neighbors”, Fr. Lubomyr underlined.

It was the same fund with the help of which oxygen concentrators were purchased last year and financial aid was provided to those who found it hard to cope with the disease. Owing to the Foundation, His Beatitude Sviatoslav also has the opportunity to support priests who continue to serve in the occupied territories and in the war zone.
