The Head of the UGCC took part in an interfaith prayer for peace and victory for Ukraine in Kyiv’s St. Sophia

On Saturday, April 9, an interfaith service, the "Common Prayer for Ukraine", took place in St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv. His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, took part in the prayer.

Joining the Head of the UGCC in prayer were the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Epiphanius; the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, Bishop Mykhailo Komansky; the Ordinary of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, Bishop Vitaliy Kryvytskyi; Head of the Ukrainian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Markos Hovhannisyan; and Senior Bishop of the Ukrainian Christian Evangelical Church, Leonid Padun.

The inter-denominational service, the "Common Prayer for Ukraine", took place in the Cathedral of St. Sophia of Kyiv. His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, took part in the prayer.

During the service, His Beatitude Sviatoslav offered the following prayer:

“Our Lord, God, Creator and Savior, look kindly upon our Ukrainian people. Accept the prayers of Your people for peace and victory for Ukraine. In Your hands we entrust all the innocent victims, whose blood cries out to You from the Ukrainian land. Blessed Virgin, Kyiv “Oranta”, Indestructible Wall, we place our Ukrainian people under Your protection. Mary, save your children. Amen."
