Today, I would like to wish our statesmen unifying mindset so that they can put the good of people and the state above selfish and private interests. I would like to wish our politicians the unity of spirit so that they do not break down our country by their narrow, lobbying activities, but take care of real welfare of our citizens. On the Day of Unity, I would like to wish our Ukrainian people a sense of unity in the fact that we are one of God's people in the lands of the Kyiv Mountains!

His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC wrote this on his Facebook page on the occasion of the Day of Unity. January 22 is a special day in the history of our Motherland because we remember the proclamation of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic, the moment of creation of a united independent Ukrainian State.

“Now the idea of unity is something vital for the Ukrainian people because it means to care for what unites.
