His Beatitude Sviatoslav consecrated The House of Mercy of Sisters of the Incarnate Word Order in Odesa

August 3, 2021 in Vapniarka village near Odesa His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC consecrated a monastery chapel of Holy Martyrs Sophia and her daughters Faith, Hope and Love, and, consequently, “The House of Mercy” which is under the guardianship of sisters of the Incarnate Word.

Among the participants of the celebration were: bishop Mykhailo Bubniy, exarch of Odesa, Fr. Antoniy Vatseba, provincial superior of the Incarnate Word Order, priests of the order, Sr. Maria Hoshivska, provincial superior, a numerous group of sisters of the order from around Ukraine, members of the Third Order of the Incarnate Word, parishioners of the Church of the Ascension of the UGCC and guests invited.

In his greeting His Beatitude Sviatoslav wished sisters to be wise women, who know how to pour good yeast into the dough of a modern culture, in order to evangelize a contemporary world, a contemporary family, modern children, and have enough of this yeast in their spiritual lives.

The Head of the Church also wished to make a newly consecrated chapel of Holy Martyrs Sophia and her daughters Faith, Hope and Love a place of meeting the living God for all.

Sisters of the Incarnate Word began their ministering on South Ukraine in 2010. The construction of “The House of Mercy” in Vapniarka village they started in 2012.  With the help of benefactors they managed to complete the erection of this house for the needy.

Sisters of the Incarnate Word serve in Odesa exarchate at the parish of the Ascension in Odesa by teaching children and adults of catechism, set up summer camps and help the deprived.
