Head of the UGCC congratulated Pope Francis on his 85th anniversary

On December 17, the Holy Father Francis turned 85 years old. On this occasion, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head and Father of the UGCC sent him a congratulatory letter in which, he thanked particularly for "loyal support for Ukraine."

On behalf of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav wished Pope Francis God's blessing in "Peter's ministry" and noted that owing to His Holiness the Church in these difficult times carries out its mission of proclaiming the Good News on the existential areas of the contemporary world with love and mercy.

The Head of the UGCC also thanked Pope Francis for his "constant active support and parental care for Ukrainian people." "Considering the dramatic situation in our country, I ask Your Holiness to continue to pray for peace for our long-suffering people," the letter of His Beatitude Sviatoslav says.
