Certainly, according to the head of the UGCC, this improvement is very slow. But could it be faster? “In fact we are in the process of development; we are not a society with a century-long tradition of political life. We are learning how to be citizens. At the same time, we have to encourage citizens to become interested in what takes place in the state, react to it, to be productive and participate,” noted the head of the UGCC.

But could it be faster? “In fact we are in the process of development; we are not a society with a century-long tradition of political life. We are learning how to be citizens. At the same time, we have to encourage citizens to become interested in what takes place in the state, react to it, to be productive and participate,” noted the head of the UGCC. According to him, one of the problems of the Ukrainian society, and not only our society, is carelessness. However, people who have certain principles have to join in this process, not stay out of the way, not be afraid and not be lazy. “Democracy is the best, but also the most difficult, form of civil and political life. It is necessary that everybody is conscious of it and does not stand to the side. And problem is not in deciding what party to join, but to simply take part in political life,” the head of UGCC said.  At the same time active people who are in a politics, according to the bishop, also must grow. “We do not have perfect politicians, they still need to learn,” he says.
