The rite of episcopal nomination of the new bishop of the UGCC for Australia took place in Lviv

On June 6, 2020, in the Church of St. Josaphat in Lviv, the rite of episcopal nomination of the ruling bishop for the Eparchy of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Melbourne (Australia) Mykola Bychok took place. The rite was performed by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, together with Bishops Ihor Vozniak, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Lviv, and Petro Loza, Auxiliary Bishop of the Sokal-Zhovkva Eparchy.

After the decree about his appointment as the ruling Bishop of the Eparchy of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Melbourne was read,  the bishop elect Mykola offered his profession of faith and, laying his hand on the Gospel, took the oath of allegiance to the Pope and to the Head and Father of the UGCC.

 The ceremony ended with a prayer to the Holy Spirit for the new bishop of our Church. Afterwards, the newly appointed bishop celebrated the Great Vespers.

 We remind you that the episcopal ordination of the new bishop of the UGCC will take place on June 7, 2020, at 11:00 in the St. George's Cathedral in Lviv.
