Every day every Ukrainian hears the word "inflation" and "devaluation" and is worried how to feed his family and keep his savings in a time when the banking sphere of Ukraine suffers from a major crisis. In the challenges of present the Church cares about the social protection of its children and is looking for the best mechanisms for that not to happen at the level of single actions or donations. Therefore, in 2008 the UGCC established a pension fund "Pokrova" ("Protection") for the clergy and laity.

That was said by the Father and the Head of the UGCC His Beatitude Sviatoslav in a video blog for "Zhyve.TV". He said that the pension fund "Pokrova" ("Protection") acts in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine. "This pension fund is available to any person, regardless of his or her religious affiliation", - noted His Beatitude Sviatoslav, adding that using this tool we can help a person to have "supported worthful hoariness".

As you know, there are about 80 private pension funds in Ukraine. The guarantor of the Fund is the current legislation, which makes certain rules of its operation. Also, according to the Head of the UGCC, the Church Council established this fund, which determines the direction of its activities.

At the end of the story His Beatitude Sviatoslav said that at the last Synod was examined the issue of necessary measures for the pension fund "Pokrova" ("Protection") to preserve and enhance best the contributions of its participants in these difficult times.

"We had an audit of the fund, analyzed the mechanism of operation, decided to support it because it works well. The church can offer it as a tool for reliable social security for their clergy and laity", - concluded the Head of the UGCC.
