UGCC Head held a public prayer for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine

Joining the prayer of the Ukrainian clergy and numerous faithful of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church for peace in Ukraine was also Patriarch Filaret, UOC KP Prelate, who during these days was also in Washington,DC.

Taras Shevchenko Monument in Washington has over 50 years served the Ukrainian community in USA as a meeting ground. This place was particularly symbolic during the communist times when Ukrainians gathered there to bring attention to transgressions against freedom and human rights in USSR. As was reported by UGCC Department of Information, His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), UGCC Head, came to Washington to attend the 62nd National Prayer Breakfast with members of Congress and the President of USA, at the invitation of the Commission of the Congress of the United States of America.
