Third day of prayers for Christian unity

As part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, on Wednesday January 21, the scheduled prayer took place in the Philadelphia Church of Christians of the Evangelical Faith (Pentecostals). From the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church His Beatitude Lubomyr and Rev. Fr. Oleksa Petriv, Head of the Secretariat of the Major Archbishopric of the UGCC, took part in the prayer. The event began with Christmas carols. Consequently, all present at the prayer greeted Anatoliy Kozachok, assistant of the bishop in the city of Kyiv of the Church of Christians of the Evangelical Faith of Ukraine (Pentecostals), pastor of the Philadelphia Church. His Beatitude Lubomyr in his speech once again noted that "human beings are called to make happen on the earth this unity which God enjoys: three persons – one God, absolute unity. Unity is the special sign of human beings. Only human beings can be indeed united and division exists because people do not comprehend unity and feel responsible for it." In addition, M. Panochko, Bishop of the Church of Christians of the Evangelical Faith, and Rev. Fr. Oleksa Petriv spoke. After the prayer conversation in a friendly atmosphere took place. The approximate amount of participants was 200 persons. "In my opinion, an extraordinarily prayerful spirit dominated, a festive exaltation, inasmuch as it was Christmas time. Lay people who came to the joint prayer from Orthodox, Greek-Catholic and Roman Catholic Churches and Protestant communities sang together, begging the Lord for the desired unity of the Ukrainian Christian Churches," the head of the Commission of the UGCC for Promoting Christian Unity, Dr. Ihor Shaban, noted.
