The Head of the UGCC met with a delegation of the Patriarchate of Constantinople

Today, December 15, 2020, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, met with His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel of Gaul. The meeting, which took place at the residence of the Head of the UGCC as part of a courtesy visit by representatives of the Orthodox Church of Constantinople, was also attended by Fr. Ihor Shaban, Chairman of the UGCC Commission for Interfaith and Interreligious Relations, and Yakiv Krochak, Personal Deacon of Patriarch Bartholomew.

During the meeting, Metropolitan Emmanuel thanked His Beatitude Sviatoslav for the congratulatory letter sent the day before to Patriarch Bartholomew on the occasion of the feast of the Apostle Andrew, the patron saint of the Church of Constantinople. During the conversation, the parties discussed the state of modern ecumenical dialogue at the global and local levels, and expressed hope for further cooperation.

The Head of the UGCC thanked Metropolitan of Gaul for the visit and conveyed greetings to Patriarch Bartholomew.

Commemorative gifts were exchanged at the end of the meeting.
