The Father and the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav during the informal reception in Kyiv, organized by the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations welcomed the newly appointed first Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Australia to Ukraine Doug Trappett and his family.

The Primate of the Church expressed His joy to the Ambassador on the occasion of his appointment, yet in Ukraine there has not been the Ambassadors of Australia. His Beatitude Sviatoslav remembered to Mr Trappett that in order to visit Australia on a pastoral visit last autumn, He had to get an Australian visa in Moscow.

The Head of the UGCC exchanged business cards with the Ambassador. The Primate of the Church expressed His hope for the cooperation, because Australia is the home to 38 thousand of Ukrainians. In addition, Australia today is an important ally of Ukraine on the international arena.

At the request of the General Secretary of the Ukrainian World Congress, Chairman of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) Stefan Romaniv His Beatitude Sviatosalv began the evening with the prayer "Our Father" in Ukrainian and English.
