Sunday, the 20th of January, turned out to be a memorable event for two choirs that are operating at the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Chapel of the Annunciation in Madrid (Spain). At first, the youth choir, under the guidance the choirmaster Lidia Skalska, were granted with an honorable mission to sing in Hierarchical Divine Liturgy dedicated to the migration week. It took place in the Cathedral Santa María la Real de la Almudena (Almudena Royal Mother of God) – in the main temple of the Spanish Church. And it was led the Archbishop of Madrid, Cardinal Antonio Maria Varela Rouko - informed Mr. Lubomyr Kalynets.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian choir became the only community, which accompanied the Liturgy in Spanish. However, at the end, under the crypt of the cathedral, he himself performed the carol, but already in Ukrainian.

In addition, the Ukrainian Choral Singing was represented by the main choir of the Greek Catholic parish (choirmaster Halyna Lyakh). It is already more than 10 years that the team is participating in the traditional annual ecumenical festival, which is held in late January in the Madrid Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de las Delicias. The short concert program, which was composed of the excerpt from the Divine Liturgy "Praise the Lord", carol "God is born", the worldwide famous shchedrivka, adapted by Mykola Leontovych "Shchedryk" and the song "Hutsulka Ksenia", adapted by Yaroslav Barnych, aroused the applause among those who were present.
