Summer progress on the building of the Patriarchal Cathedral

The director general of the building administration of the Patriarchate of the UGCC Fr. Petro Fedyuk reported that during the summer work was started on the façade of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. “We are planning to complete all the work on the facade in October. Plastering has also begun in the cathedral,” said Father Petro.

According to him, work is continuing on the roof. “The roof covers an area of one and a half thousand square meters. Eight hundred meters of this around the central dome of the cathedral will be an observation platform. Special technology will be used to construct the platform and thus will take longer,” reported the director general. The director general also said that the plan for the main entrance is being confirmed.

Father Fedyuk added the question of automated heating is being reviewed because now only centralized foreseen. There is also discussion of the possibility of using solar heaters. The company Svitanok won a contract to install the windows. In the near future it will be decided which company will make the facade of the building, where soon we will turn on the heating, electricity, plaster the inside,” he said.
