Sisters servants organized a literary evening devoted to the works of Lina Kostenko

On November 21, 2009, at the House of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in Kyiv, a literary-musical evening devoted to the works of Lina Kostenko, organized by the sisters Maryana Shiposh and Olya Petrashyk, took place. The event gathered many admirers of the works of the poetesses among which was also the youth community of the Church of Saint Nicolas the Wonderworker. "Even 15 years ago, such evenings were not rare, but now in our time of television, the internet, and computer games, the youth forget about poetry, and so it is important that such evenings are frequent,” stated the organizers. In the program of the evening the works of Kostenko were recited, and the long-time admirer of the poetess Nelya Franchuk performed songs based on the poems of Kostenko. During the evening everyone had the opportunity to share what the poetry of the poetess brought to one’s life. Unfortunately, the poetess was not present at the event but the organizers prepared a book of reviews, in which everyone had the chance to write what they would have liked to say to her.
