Preparatory work for the enthronement in the Patriarchal Cathedral is coming to an end – Rev. Petro Fediuk

As it has been announced earlier, the enthronement of a new Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is scheduled for 27 March in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv. 80 people are involved in preparation of the church builing for this historical event. According to Rev. Petro Fediuk, director general of the construction board of the Cathedral, at present the preparatory work is almost finished. Among other things he said: “We did everything we had planned. The only thing left is to remove a scaffolding and finish wall covering”.

 According to the organizing committee, around a thousand of guests are invited to the enthronement, which is to begin at 10:00 this coming Sunday. Among the guests are representatives of all UGCC eparchies and exarchates, state and local authorities, local and international NGOs as well as representatives of different confessions and religious organizations.

Finally it should be noted that it will be possible to watch internet broadcasting of the enthronement ceremony. Moreover, efforts are made to provide TV coverage of the event on Ukrainian channels.
