Prayers to the Chornobyl Madonna in the Patriarchal Cathedral on 25th anniversary of Chornobyl disaster

On 26 April, Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC Most Rev. Bohdan Dzyurakh presided a Panakhyda Memorial Service in front of the Chornobyl Madonna in the Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv. On this day Panakhyda Memorial Services were held in all UGCC churches to commemorating 25th anniversary of Chornobyl disaster.
On 26 April, Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC Most Rev. Bohdan Dzyurakh presided a Panakhyda Memorial Service in front of the Chornobyl Madonna in the Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv. On this day Panakhyda Memorial Services were held in all UGCC churches to commemorating 25th anniversary of Chornobyl disaster. During the Memorial Services an Appeal of the Head of the UGCC His Beatitude Sviatosla was read. The Primate of the UGCC called on the clergy, religious people and laity to join in a prayer on 26 April for eternal repose of the victims of Chornobyl. “May the Creator of the universe in his omnipotence and his mercy teach us to be responsible for the created by Him world, save us from the ecological sin – an offence against His creation. God spare us from the atomic disaster which we are commemorating today” – stresses out His Beatitude Sviatoslav in the Appeal.
