Prayer of TAIZE in Kyiv will become inter-confessional

On September 27, 2009, in the church of Mykolaj the Good, in Podil, a duty prayer meeting in the spirit of Taize was held. "This was the largest meeting – there were 50 participants. Those who personally took part in Taize abroad, their friends, and all interested in what Taize is came here," reports Father Roman Syrotych. Around the “Cross of Taize,” which was made with candles, the participants prayed, read Psalms, and the Gospel.  Father Myroslav Latynnyk told the youth about the value of silence in their spiritual life, that the quite stimulates a person to communicate with God. After the prayer everybody could share what the prayer of Taize meant to them. In addition, a discussion took place about the Kyivan inter-confessional meeting “Day of Trust,” which will be conducted in Kyiv by brothers George and Benua on October 17, 2009.  "We thank God for everybody who came to the prayer and gave himself and their time to the joint prayer. Everybody went their own way and through different sources found out about this meeting – but all together we were one. We have opened our hearts for a meeting with the Lord. We will be glad to see you on the next prayers of Taize" summarized Vitalia Vavrynchuk.
