The Holy Father, appealing to the conscience of politicians, entrusted all the fervor for peace to the intercession of the Virgin Mary.

During the Sunday assembly with the pilgrims who gathered at noon on February 13, 2022 in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican to recite the Angelus, Pope Francis again drew his attention to Ukraine.

"Dear brothers and sisters, the news coming from Ukraine is very disturbing. I entrust to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the conscience of political leaders all the fervor for peace. Let us pray in silence,” the Holy Father called for, after what a prayerful silence reigned over the square.
