Since 10 years ago our Church had an opportunity to greet this holy man on the Ukrainian soil – in Kyiv and Lviv” – notes His Beatitude Sviatoslav.    “The Divine Liturgy on 8 May will be a very good opportunity for us to thank God also for this visit and to ask for the intercession of blessed John Paul II for our Church and nation. May through his intercession come true his wishes and words, expressed by him in June days in 2001 – for the glory of God and the good of our people” – addresses His Beatitude Sviatoslav Bishops, priests, religious and laity of the UGCC.     Blessed John Paul II was staying in Ukraine with an official visit 23-27 June 2001. On the occasion of the beatification and 10th anniversary of the Papal visit to Ukraine there was restored the website (http://www.papalvisit.org.ua/) dedicated to this event. On the website you can find materials of the papal visit to Kyiv and Lviv, texts of the sermons and speeches delivered by John Paul II, His Beatitude Lubomyr, state representatives and Heads of the Ukrainian Churches and religious organizations.
