Also attending the meeting were members of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Council of Churches: Bishop Eustratiy from the Kyivan Patriarchate and mitred archpriest Oleksa Petriv from the UGCC. At the meeting, Patriarch Lubomyr congratulated Patriarch Filaret on the 15th anniversary of his enthronement. The two heads proceeded to exchange views on interdenominational relations and further prospects of the church-state dialogue. Mutual concern was expressed in certain trends in these areas, particularly, in the lack of response from the government on the proposals regarding the cooperation with individual denominations and with All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO). Patriarch Filaret told the head of the UGCC about his trip to the United States, which included meetings with Greek Catholic clergy and believers and visits to UGCC parishes. The heads expressed satisfaction with the level of interaction between the two churches in matters of interdenominational and church-state relations and agreed on further cooperation.
