The Archbishop-Emeritus of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Lubomyr (Husar), has a different view towards the position called "against all" when voting at the elections. He pronounced that at the media-club “CHESNO about the elections” meeting, which took place in Kiev on 20th of July. Position "Against All" sounds strange to me, - says the spiritual leader of the UGCC. – I do not appreciate such an approach, for the very reason that our country is a real democracy; and these are not simply nice words or a decoration, but the democracy indeed according to which people are the carriers of power, responsibility, as well as, of the conscious action. " “If we are “against all”, then the question arises as to what are we doing if we are against all? Whether there is the real civic society?” – His Beatitude Lubomyr inquired rhetorically. His opinion is that, politicians should be educated since childhood. He provides an example, that school children in America choose the class representative, and, in such a way, learn on how to conduct an election campaign. A student should provide arguments for why it is he or she the one, who should be elected. Thus, the child from an early age gets accustomed to the fair conduction of the process and learns how to be responsible. “In brief, we should work hard on ways of how to educate honest politicians. Because, at this very moment, the main goal of people, who wish to be in power, is the accumulation of wealth. And this, as a result, gives exactly what we have today”, - considers the Archbishop Emeritus. Moreover, he told that he is often asked by the journalists and other people, whether the current political situation within the Ukraine is "God's punishment." "We should not regard the political situation as a punishment for our sins. We should work the best we can. Lord God gives us all the opportunities. Thank God that we have freedom. We should use it to educate young people, and not to blame God for everything that is taking place. This is so, because everything that is happening depends on us. Lord God gives us intelligence, will and his science "- His Beatitude Lubomyr explained. As an example he told about the student, who did not study, and, as a result, failed the exam. "So, was it the Lord, who punished him? No, it was him, who chastised himself, when he did not use all the opportunities that he could," - said the spiritual leader of the UGCC. Then he added: “It is said in the Bible that the power comes from God, but that does not mean that the government can do whatever it wants. And people should not say," Oh, it is all God’s punishment. "It is possible, that the God does not punish us, but simply reminds us”- the former head of the UGCC is convinced
