On December 13, a symbolic sharing of the Bethlehem Fire of Peace among all Plast regional officers and communities took place online in Kyiv. In these difficult times, the event brought together members of the organization from all over the world.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Primate of the UGCC, and His Beatitude Epiphanij, Primate of the OCU, addressed the Plast members.

The live stream took place from the St Sophia Trapezna Church (Small Sophia) in Kyiv, where the chaplains of Plast Fr. Rostyslav Vysochan (UGCC) and Fr. Dmytro Karan (OCU) held a Christmas prayer. Then the fire was symbolically transmitted to all Plast regional groups.

The fire of Bethlehem symbolizes peace, harmony, and love of neighbor. “Today we see the joyous light, which is the herald of Christmas gladness from Bethlehem, from the place where our Savior Jesus Christ was born. Overcoming all obstacles, all closed borders during quarantine restrictions, the Fire of Bethlehem arrived in Ukraine,” His Beatitude Sviatoslav said in his video address.

This fire is like an assurance that there will be a holiday, that Christmas is coming.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav thanked the Plast representatives who brought to Ukraine the light and warmth of the joy of Christmas. "May this fire of Bethlehem spread throughout all our homes, so that on the day we sit down for our Christmas dinner in our families, this fire from Bethlehem shines on our tables," wished the spiritual leader of Ukrainians.

The Head of the Church greeted all Plast scouts with the upcoming Christmas holiday and wished their communities all over the world to grow and develop in the Christian faith of their parents.
