His Beatitude Sviatoslav greeted TV viewers with the great feast of the Resurrection of Christ

Today, on this great feast of the Resurrection of Christ, I would like to wish everyone Easter joy. This joy comes from the fact that exactly there, where human strength comes to an end, we experience Divine strength which opens up for us absolutely new horizons”.  With these words the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, greeted the Ukrainians in a traditional Easter interview with Channel 5.   The Head of the UGCC noted that this joy reveals that our earthly life is not a whole human life: “Our life which we are called to is much more than our earthly life with its difficulties, sufferings and anxieties. This full life is given to us today through the risen Christ”.   “I would like that this Easter joy would somehow change all of us, giving us strength to build our future with Christ. Christ is risen!” – wished the Primate of the UGCC in his greetings.   His Beatitude Sviatoslav answered the question of Channel 5’s TV presenter Sviatoslav Tseholko how the Head of the UGCC is going to get youth interested in the Church in order to prevent “the Church from being a museum”.  The Head of the UGCC said that he will try, first of all, as a young person to be a true Christian. “I will try through a modern youth culture to bear witness to the fact it is possible to be a young Christian, that Christianity is not just for elderly people. Moreover, it is not only possible, but it is necessary to be a young Christian in our modern culture” – said the Primate of the UGCC.   “If we, Ukrainians, wait in the hope that somebody else will build our world for us, then this world always will be either Russian, or German or American, but in no way it will be the Ukrainian world.”  Thus said the Head of the UGCC in answering the question of the TV presenter how the Church was going to build up the “Ukrainian world” when it is talked so much about the “Russian world”.   “I think that today we have all been given opportunities by God to build up the Ukrainian world. It is not directed against anybody or in opposition to anybody, but it will be built together with our brothers in our homeland”- said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.   “This Ukrainian world will be, on the one hand, a Ukrainian world in Ukraine, but, on the other hand, it will also be outside of Ukraine” – noted the Head of the UGCC recalling that nowadays Ukrainians are spread all over the world.   “The feeling of this unity and brotherhood, which unites everyone wherever a Ukrainian heart beats, will be exactly the dimension of the Ukrainian world. It will be in Ukraine as well as abroad” – said the Head of the UGCC in the Easter interview with Channel 5.
