His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his gratitude to the benefactors of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ

“Today we are commemorating a really unique historical event. For the first time we are celebrating the Parish Feast Day inside of our Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.” These words were said by the Head of the UGCC in his sermon during a Pontifical Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the Parish Feast Day in the Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv. Bishop Josyf (Milian) – Auxiliary Bishop of Kyiv Archeparchy and Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh) – Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC as well as priests, benefactors and parishioners were joining the Primate of the UGCC in the solemn Divine Liturgy.

Bishop Josyf (Milian) – Auxiliary Bishop of Kyiv Archeparchy and Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh) – Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC as well as priests, benefactors and parishioners were joining the Primate of the UGCC in the solemn Divine Liturgy. “In this liturgy today we are offering to the Lord’s altar all our Church, our people. We are imploring Him to change all of us, to fill us with Easter power of love and joy and thus to send us good people, good friends and brothers so that soon the Patriarchal Cathedral would be consecrated. Our hope is that this Cathedral would become a cornerstone for a new page in the history of our Church and our nation” – summed up the Head of the UGCC. At the end of the Liturgy the Primate of the UGCC thanked His Excellency Bishop Josyf, who is heading the Supervisory board on the construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral, and all the workers involved in the consturction. Special words of gratitude were addressed to all the benefactors “who are united with us today, even though they are in different parts of the globe…and who with their mite contribute to the completion of the indeed national  church with which our Ukraine and our Ukrainian Church will rise”.
