Heroes of Kruty commemorated at Askold’s Grave

At Askold’s Grave in Kyiv the memory of the heroes of Kruty was honored. As the correspondent of SoborNews reports, in the memory prayer participated Bishop Joseph (Milyan) (UGCC) and the Bishop Dymytriy (Rudyuk) (UOC-KP). Together with the clergy prayed the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, Secretary of CNSDU Raisa Bohatyriova, the head of the Secretariat of President of Ukraine Vira Ulyanchenko, minister of foreign affairs Petro Poroshenko, and public representatives of Kyiv.

President Yushchenko laid flowers to the memorial of the Heroes of Kruty at Askold’s Grave. The present honored the memory of the deceased with a minute of silence.  In the address to the people on the Kruty Heroes Remembrance Day, the president stated: “The exploit of the Ukrainian patriots has its eternal, spiritual dimension. By the cost of their own lives the patriots showed that love to the Motherland and devotion to the national idea is a mighty force that exceeds weapons and any internal or external threats.”
