Head of UGCC Patriarch Sviatoslav visits United States

The primate of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), went to the United States on a pastoral visit that will last until November 21. Patriarch Sviatoslav will visit Wilmington (Delaware), Philadelphia and Washington. In each city the head of the UGCC will meet with representatives of Ukrainian community, the clergy, and will hold a service.
The primate of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), went to the United States on a pastoral visit that will last until November 21. Patriarch Sviatoslav will visit Wilmington (Delaware), Philadelphia and Washington. In each city the head of the UGCC will meet with representatives of Ukrainian community, the clergy, and will hold a service. On November 16 in Washington, head of the UGCC will meet with Oleksandr Motsyk, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S., visit the White House, and meet with senators and congressmen. On November 19, Patriarch Sviatoslav will lead the annual memorial service for victims of famine and deliver a speech in St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. On Sunday, November 20, also in New York, he will head the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. George. The same day the head of the UGCC will be the guest of honor at a ceremony honoring the leaders of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, which take place in Fordham University.
