Head of the UGCC takes part in episcopal ordination of Msgr. John Sobilo

Patriarch Lubomyr, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and Bishop Joseph (Milian), Auxiliary Bishop of Kyivan Archeparchy, attended the episcopal ordination of Msgr. Jan Sobilo of the Roman Catholic Church.
Patriarch Lubomyr, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and Bishop Joseph (Milian), Auxiliary Bishop of Kyivan Archeparchy, attended the episcopal ordination of Msgr. Jan Sobilo of the Roman Catholic Church. The episcopal ordination took place on December 8, 2010, in Kharkiv, in the Cathedral of Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Roman Catholic Church.  Pope Benedict XVI appointed the newly ordained bishop as auxiliary bishop of Kharkiv-Zaporizhia Diocese, the site of the Vatican Radio reported. Clergy of other churches, local officials and guests from Poland attended the ceremony. Msgr. Jan Sobilo chose the words “Deus Pater Misericors” (God the Merciful Father) as his episcopal motto, and used the icon of God the Merciful Father, the patron of the pro-cathedral in Zaporizhia, in his episcopal coat of arms.
