Greek Catholics of Brazil celebrated the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Kievan Rus

On the square at the station in Prudentopolis Bishop Vladimir consecrated the table with the inscription: " Celebrating the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Ukraine on the place  where the first Ukrainian church was situated in the city of Prudentópolis ."

At the beginning of the ceremony, Pastor Yefrem Krefer OSBM , said: "We came to this place in front of this commemorative cross to remember that here our predecessors built the first church in the Ukrainian city of Prudentópolis ( Church of St. Basil the Great ),by which we give the testimony our great faith. We chose this place, this " Mark of Cross " to start celebrating here the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Ukraine, when in the 988 on the banks of the Dnieper Prince Volodymyr the Great declared Christianity the official religion of Ukraine . "

The ceremony ended with the blessing of the commemorative table and the cross procession to the parish church, where a solemn liturgy was celebrated. This is reported by the journal "Work ".
