Funeral services for +msgr. Peter Skrincosky (1922-2011)

On Monday, January 31, about twenty priests of the Philadelphia Archeparchy and the Stamford Eparchy gathered in St. NIcholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Minersville, PA to celebrate a Priestly Parastas for the repose of the soul of Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Skrinkosky who was born and raised in nearby St. Clair, PA.
On Monday, January 31, about twenty priests of the Philadelphia Archeparchy and the Stamford Eparchy gathered in St. NIcholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Minersville, PA to celebrate a Priestly Parastas for the repose of the soul of Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Skrinkosky who was born and raised in nearby St. Clair, PA. Msgr. John Terlecky delivered a homily during the Parastas service in which he recounted several personal memories of Msgr. Skrincosky, who was his teacher and colleague at St. Basil Seminary in Stamford, CT. Bishop Paul pours olive oil over the face of +Msgr. Skrincosky with the following prayer: "May our Lord and God, Jesus Christ, who strengthened you in faith and in living a Christian life, graciously accept all of our prayers, and with the oil of his mercy, may He cleanse you of all sins which you committed through human failing, and may He grant you a reward with the saints, who sing to Him - Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia."
