For the good of the city

On December 12 at the invitation of the city head of Ivano-Frankivs’k, Mr. Viktor Anushkevychus, Reverend Bishop Volodymyr (Viytyshyn), Eparch of Ivano-Frankivs’k, blessed a new rescue car for the necessities of the Ministry of Emergencies (ME) of the city of Ivano-Frankivs’k, which was given by the city head for the city administration of the ME. Present at the blessing ceremony were representatives of the UOC-KP [Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate], UAOC [Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church], representatives of the city and regional authorities, representatives of the construction companies and others which by their donations helped in the acquisition of such a necessary car, which can extend a rescue ladder 50 meters high: "This will enable rescue work to be conducted at high buildings of the city, the number of which increase every day…" This was noted in the speeches of representatives of the city administration of the ME. After the blessing of the car Bishop Volodymyr asked God’s blessing for the rescuers and sprinkled all present with holy water. All who helped in the acquisition of the car received certificates from the city head.
