Dome and cross of UGCC church blessed in Luhans’k

On December 6 the cross and dome of the Church of Christ the King of the UGCC was blessed in the city of Luhans’k. Bishop Stepan (Meniok), Exarch of Donets’k and Kharkiv, performed the blessing. The participants of the important historical moment were the pastor of this parish, Fr. Mikhail Yuschyshyn, Fr. Rostyslav Mukhovskyj from Donets’k, Fr. Ivan Cherkavskyj from the village of Krasnyj Luch, and other Greek and Roman Catholic priests and faithful. "The faithful have waited for this event for a long time, because holding religious services in houses always receives prejudice from the local people. In their conviction, this does not suit the status of a church, and prayer in adapted premises is not very attractive for them. They always dreamed of having a real church building. And here in Luhans’k now they have this desired house of prayer and comfort," Bishop Stepan told the Information Department. The next day, with the participation of numerous faithful, in the Church of Christ the King a pontifical Liturgy was celebrated.
