Department for Pastoral Care in the Armed Forces launches website

The Web portal of the UGCC Patriarchal Curia Department for Pastoral Care in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been launched. The portal will help inform representatives of chaplaincy structures, the civil society and other interested persons about the state and prospects of pastoral care in the armed forces and other military units of Ukraine, report current affairs in chaplaincy activities, and facilitate communication on relevant issues to improve the quality and efficiency of chaplaincy. The site will be a source for accessing information about the main activities of the department and for learning about the structure of chaplaincy in Ukraine and the people engaged in its activity. Visitors will be able to read about the history of chaplains in the Ukrainian army. The portal will also include blogs maintained by chaplains, who will share their thoughts about pastoral ministry. The website will post major articles and official documents, which will regulate the military-religious cooperation to better meet the needs of soldiers. The site will also include a section with articles on important issues, which will highlight the current state of the chaplains’ work and will raise important questions regarding the creation in Ukraine of an institute of military chaplains.   Website address: www.kapelanstvo.org.ua.
