Church has to be near the families who have hard times, Head of the UGCC in family telethon

The Head of the Church said that quarantine restrictions had exposed hidden reality in both, society and family. A healthy family turned out to become a basic clinic. In religious domain, we started seeing a home church within our families: during the quarantine families were praying together online.

He also added that wounds of those families who had difficulties had been exposed too. Family violence increased dramatically, which means that family life in order to be happy needs support.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav specifically outlined the issue of family fertility or rather infertility, which is a huge scourge of modern families and added that fertility is not just a body issue. To be prepared to have children, a family needs psychological and spiritual fertility. Thus harmonic relationship within a family on all levels, especially a spiritual one, creates a harmonic institution we call a family.
