Church develops the ¨ecology of a human¨, which is the key to the "ecology of the environment". This was stated by prof. Volodymyr Sheremeta in his report during the round table meeting "Integration of Education for Sustainable Development into the national education system", which was held on the 24th of April, at the International Ecological Forum "Environment for Ukraine", in Kiev.

The head of the Bureau of the UGCC on environmental issues stressed that for the sustainable development, which is considered to be the key to solving today's environmental problems, it is not sufficient to be established on three strong pillars "society - economy - environment". No matter how well are those realities balanced, the construction of sustainable development will be precarious and unreliable, unless it is set up on a solid foundation of the "ecology of human", which the Church understands as the authentic faith, spirituality and morality of a man.

The speaker focused on the fundamental elements of formation of the “ecology of human” in the process of life and activity of the Church, and also familiarized all those who were present with the underlying areas of activity of the Bureau of the UGCC on environmental issues. Of particular interest to the audience of scientists and educators of the International Environmental Forum were the publications and practical initiatives of the Environmental Bureau of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, which were aimed at shaping the responsibility for the nature and its implementation within the frames of environmental diakonia.
