The celebration of Christmas is always an important holiday for every Christian family. This year the Kharkiv region met the birth of Jesus with sincere prayer and joyful carols.
On Christmas Eve the parish community of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God in the village Vilcha held a communal prayer and the Holy Supper with the Most Rev. Bishop Basil (Medvit), auxiliary bishop of the Donetsk-Kharkiv Exarchate. In the morning children and youth of the parish glorified the born child with a festive concert.
At midnight Bishop Basil was met in the Basilian Monastery of Pokotylivka, near Kharkiv, where the Christmas Hierarchal Liturgy was celebrated.
On the third day of Christmas, Bishop Basil ordained the deacon Victor Martynenko from Kharkiv a priest.
