The regular meeting of bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine took place on November 22-23 in Lviv. The main theme of the meeting was the problems of religious sects, which are felt by today's Christians. The bishops stressed that reducing the influence of sects and their activity is only possible by the active life of each parish and its contribution to the development of evangelization. During the session, Metropolitan Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki gave a report "Sects as a Challenge for Contemporary Pastoral Care.” Afterward, the problem of the presence and activity of the sects and the importance of local church pastoral care were discussed, for the development of the sect depends on the development of pastoral activities of the parish. The more a parish develops, the less impact a sect has, summed up the bishops. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of devoting pastoral ministry to adult catechesis, which is no less important than children’s catechesis. At the opening of the meeting, the bishops of both rites commemorate the memory of Bishop Rafael Kernytskyj. Immediately after the joint meeting, on November 23, according to Catholic media center, began the XXXV Conference of Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine. Also, the Synod of Bishops of Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church continued its work.
