Bishop Mykola Bychok visited with a pastoral visit the faithful of Geelong in Australia

Reflecting on the Word of God, the bishop emphasized: “The Lord sows constantly and generously, every day and minute; sows His Word, which is alive and active. But unfortunately, this Word is found with people who have different approaches to Him: someone is prejudiced, someone states that “does not understand anything from Him, therefore does not read”; some are not interested, some are ashamed, and some are afraid, because this Word has the ability to change lives.”

Continuing his reflections on the Sunday Gospel, the bishop said: “Today, as faithful of the UGCC, we unite with the entire universal church, celebrating the day of the poor. Evangelist Mark 14: 7 reminds us, “You always have the poor, and whenever you want you can do them good.” It is the poor who must help bishops, priests, consecrated persons and all our faithful in the service of God and people. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us how we can do this through 3 good deeds: prayer, fasting and almsgiving.”

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Mykola sincerely thanked Father Yuriy Tychenok and Deacon Michael Kaminsky for their service to God and to people. Also Bishop Mykola expressed special gratitude to all the faithful for their presence and common prayer.

Afterwards, a warm meeting with the faithful took place in the parish hall, where at lunch everyone was able to communicate with the bishop and get answers to their questions. There was a special joy in the whole parish, as the faithful waited for a long time for the arrival of their pastor.
