On the Knowledge Day, which is on the 1st of September, Bishop Mykhailo (Koltun), who is the Head of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC on matters of Pastoral Care in the Power Structures of Ukraine, took part in the Ceremony on the occasion of both - taking the Oath of Enlistment and beginning of the new academic year in the Academy of Ground Forces in Lviv.

While addressing the students of this Academy, the bishop emphasized that: “Your sacred duty is to preserve the peace. This does not mean to fight or constitute a threat. Preserving the peace is cherishing in your heart the love for brothers and sisters not only of your country but also for all others".

Thus, the bishop blessed all of the students beginning their studies, as well as the teaching staff of the academy by saying: "We, the Churches of Volodymyr's baptism, are the witnesses of God’s blessing; the blessing that accompanies the Church, people, state and the army. Both the Church and the army are those visible and spiritual strengths that are combined within your personalities.”

After the Ceremony on occasion of taking the Oath of Enlistment, priest-chaplains sprinkled with the holy water all the freshmen and their relatives.
