Bishop Dionisio (Lachovicz) visited Ukrainian Church communities in Spain

From March 12 to 24, Bishop Dionisio (Lachovicz), Apostolic Visitator for the faithful of the UGCC in Italy and Spain, visited communities of the faithful in Spain. In Madrid Bishop Dionisio met with priests who work with Ukrainian immigrants. This meeting allowed the discussion of certain problems which they meet in daily pastoral ministry.
From March 12 to 24, Bishop Dionisio (Lachovicz), Apostolic Visitator for the faithful of the UGCC in Italy and Spain, visited communities of the faithful in Spain. In Madrid Bishop Dionisio met with priests who work with Ukrainian immigrants. This meeting allowed the discussion of certain problems which they meet in daily pastoral ministry. The Apostolic Visitator also visited the faithful in Valencia and Barcelona. Staying in Barcelona, Bishop Dionisio, at invitation of the rector, Fr. Giuseppe Turul, lodged at the local seminary. Here he greeted the Ukrainian community of which Fr. Hector Zimer and Fr. Ivan Levytskyj, CSSR, take care. In his pastoral address to the faithful during a pontifical Liturgy, the Bishop noted that the UGCC always remembers and is concerned about immigrants. After the divine service the faithful had the possibility to ask him various questions. In Barcelona Bishop Dionisio also visited a Ukrainian school in which 50 children study. On March 21 in Barcelona the Apostolic Visitator took part in the episcopal ordination of Monsignor Sebastian Taltavull Anglada as auxiliary bishop of Barcelona. The next day a meeting with the consul-general of Ukraine in Barcelona, Mr. Yuriy Klymenko, took place. On March 23, Bishop Dionisio met with Cardinal Lluis Martínez Sistach of Barcelona, during which they discussed questions of subsequent pastoral ministry of the faithful of the UGCC in Catalonia (Spain).
