A meeting of the bishops of Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was held 24 - 25 February 2011 in Lviv-Bryukhovychi. It was attended by all the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic bishops in Ukraine and the Apostolic Administrator of Buchach Eparchy. Prior to the session, the bishops took part in a meeting with Roman Catholic bishops in Ukraine.

It was attended by all the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic bishops in Ukraine and the Apostolic Administrator of Buchach Eparchy. Prior to the session, the bishops took part in a meeting with Roman Catholic bishops in Ukraine.

The main topics discussed during the meeting concerned work on the draft; “Instructions regulating book publishing in Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric of the UGCC.” It also included explanation of the guidelines and practical recommendations on catechetical ministry in the Major Archbishopric. Discussions were held and recommendations given for further implementation of the project of creation of an all-church printed publication of the UGCC in Ukraine. Head of Administration of the Patriarchal Curia, Most Rev. Bohdan (Dziurakh), told meeting attendees about the current structure of the central UGCC authorities.

Additionally, a further discussion followed regarding the seminary for late vocations, i.e. for priesthood candidates from different regions of Ukraine who have been called at a later age, and who apply with their bishops.

The participants of the meeting heard reports of heads of all church commissions of the Major Archbishopric and submitted recommendations for further activities. The bishops also heard a report on the state of construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv. There was also a report on the Week of Prayers for Christian Unity held 18 - 25 January 2011 in Kyiv. Furthermore, the bishops took into consideration a letter of response from the Ministry of Finances on the taxation of donations of the faithful.

Much of the working time was dedicated to the procedures for carrying out the Elective Synod which is to begin on March 21, 2011 and enthronement of a new Head of the Church scheduled for March 27.
