A food bank reported before its depositors

The food bank of the Church of Saint Nicholas on Askol'd’s Grave of the UGCC has reported on its activity. The bank was created by the parish ministry service of help for the needy. The released report contains indices for the first three months of activity. In total over three months the faithful of this church gave to the church’s social service various produce amounting to more than 3000 hryvnias, «Depomaranch» reports. «In these difficult economic times the Church of Saint of Nicholas the Wonder-worker on Askol'd’s Grave helps people who are looking for help in food, some for the first time. At present more than at other times, our social services want to be sure that people, staggered with the falling economy and increased costs for produce, have access to healthy meals, to feed themselves and their families. The Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonder-worker does everything possible to answer worthily to the growth of these necessities and needs the help of the community to continue the mission. We appealed to the Social Department of the Pecherskyi District State Administration with a request to give a list of families who live in poverty, in order to help them.» So the pastor of the church, Fr. Ihor Onyshkevych, talked about the activity of the food bank.
