The construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral is planned to be completed in autumn 2010

On December 1-7, 2008, Reverend Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh), head of the Supervisory Council of the Construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral, in Kyiv, is spending time in the USA. The purpose of his visit is to meet with members of the Diaspora Department of the Informational-Financial Support of the Construction of the Patriarchal Center in order to inform them about the construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral and discuss subsequent steps for collecting funds on the territory of the USA. During his stay in the USA Bishop Bohdan will also meet with the Rev. Bishop Paul (Chomnycky), head of the Pan-American Committee for the Development of the Patriarchal Center, Eparch of Stamford of the UGCC, and Rev. Bishop Basil (Losten), Bishop emeritus of the Stamford Eparchy, who is participating actively in collecting funds for the construction of the cathedral. In addition, a number of meetings with current and potential donors is planned, in particular with the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockefeller Center, who has already twice donated 100,000 dollars. "We hope that with the good cooperation of our bishops in North America we will be able to collect the necessary money in order to continue with renewed strength the construction work in the spring. We will make efforts so that, according to the decision of the members of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, in autumn 2010 we can conduct the blessing of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ," Bishop Bohdan said to the Information Department. The Pan-American Committee for the Development of the Patriarchal Center and the Diaspora Department of the Informational-Financial Support of the Construction of the Patriarchal Center have officially operated on the territory of the USA since August 13, 2007.
