Meeting of bishops of UGCC in Western Europe discuss preparation for forum of priests

With the blessing of Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), on 8 May, in the premises of the bishop’s residence of the Eparchy of St. Volodymyr the Great in Paris, a regular meeting of the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Western Europe was held.

According to the press-service of UGCC in Italy, it is the second such meeting this year. This time it dealt with the question of preparation of organization of the Forum of UGCC priests to be held on 2-6 December, 2013 in Fatima, Portugal.

The bishops shared the results of the meeting over the telephone with the Head of UGCC who gave his blessing for the organization of the forum and expressed a wish to participate in it.

The forum will be held under the motto, “New Evangelization: Do we believe it is possible?”

The event envisages discussion and evaluation of the pastoral situation of UGCC in Western Europe and will be aimed primarily to establish closer cooperation between the Church institutions of UGCC in Western Europe.
